Open Lesson: Information flow

December 21, 2023

On December 7, 2023, the lecturer of the Department of Linguistics of the AIU Alimzhan Zakirov held an open lesson on the topic “Information flow” within the framework of the subject of Neurolinguistics.

Neurolinguistics explores how the brain processes language: where and how language knowledge is stored, how we assimilate and use it in conversation, reading and writing. It helps to understand how our brain works in communication and how we learn language.

The 3rd year students prepared several presentations for the open lesson and discussed ideas with their group mates. During the lesson, topics such as: “What in our brain makes human language possible?”, “Does language use the same neural computing as other cognitive systems such as music or mathematics?”, “Where in your brain is the word that you have learned? How does the word “come to mind?”, “When do you need it?”. Our students showed interest, worked together and made the right decision in an open lesson. Thank you to our lecturer for an interesting lesson!
